If you’ve read our story, you know that our lives run fairly parallel–from where we work to where we attended grad school to when we started families. Those who know us know that we spend a lot of time together–two prep periods every weekday, play dates on the weekends with the kids, and most holidays. Over the past decade of friendship, fate (and a wee bit-o-planning on our part) has just kind of put us on the same road at the same time.
And now, we’re on to the next chapter in the living memoir we’re tentatively titling, Erinn and MB Accidentally Do Everything Together. We’re both pregnant for the second time. And we’re due three days apart.
We swear to you, we did not plan this. If some math-minded person out there can tell us the probability that two friends can both ovulate and have an egg fertilized in the same week, we’d love to know the stats on that. See what we’re saying? Fate seems to want us on life adventures together.
We’re both unbelievably excited about having babies again and also terrified of having babies again. And just as we think we have this motherhood thing semi-figured out, we are about to be thrust back into the depths of ignorance, wary of what life holds with a toddler and a newborn. But we’re grateful that we have each other to lean on, to vent to, and to drink with…in about six more months.

So excited for you both!! I do feel for you in not being able to drink during the threenager stage…I’ll drink for all of us.
I now understand why people space their kids two years apart. Being sober for age three has been the largest trial of my life.
THEY’RE JUST GOURD-JOUS! 🙂
