Summer Blues

I’ve got the summer blues. You know, blue dresses, blue tanks, blue rompers, bring it on! If you read our last post [fitness goals: monthly update], you know that we rewarded ourselves after reaching our fitness goals for month 1 and my treat to myself was a super flowy, parent-friendly, bbq-ready, cobalt blue dress. And as far as I’m concerned, blue is the new white for the summer.

Blue: the color of peace, calm, tranquility, loyalty, truth. Let’s face it, I could use a little of all these things this summer for sure. As the school year coasts towards its final bell, I’m really feeling the need to reset and find some happiness in the blue skies of summer and warm sand on my feet. What better way then to rock the color that embodies all these ideas. Gotta start somewhere!

Usually, I swap out my dark colors for lighter shades when the temps hit 70 or above, but as a mom [and someone who is notoriously clumsy with red wine], a blue dress or romper makes being the backyard with the kids, sitting the grass, worry-free.

I’ve always been a fan of blue, but this season’s new shades have got me falling in love all over again. Instead of opting for pastels or whites this summer, I’ll be rounding up all the blue I can find.

I got everyone in on the blue trend this summer! So many shades to choose from! My dress- WhoWhatWear for Target//boy’s t-shirts-Old Navy//Boy’s shorts-Target

Someone does NOT want me to hold him! Which is actually a new development…I need pieces this summer that allow me to be on the move with out being too fussy.
I love this age when they just want to explore everything! Both my boys have been obsessed with rocks! My shoes- old, similar here and here //F’s shoes- See Kai Run
This dress was absolutely perfect for a Memorial Day BBQ with the fam. I could sit on the ground, chase after the boys and look cute all at the same time! Blondes and blues for the win!

Hope everyone gets the “summer blues” this season!
